Sigh, 903 is slowly turning into a wife, rather than a girlfriend.
I think it's fairly safe to say that , until actinic/protx moves the integration out of the scripts and into actinic's configure method screen, it'll always need redoing.
Just taken a site using protx from 9.0.2 to 9.0.3 and it trashed the protx setup
Now i took mine from 9.0.1 with no problems, but i did install 9.0.3 over the top rather than uninstall and re-install and im sure i remember you saying you did clean installs. Actinics a funny bugger sometimes

This was a snapshot imported from a client - so it looks like if you upgrade an installed site then protx is ok but if you import a site and upgrade it looses the key.
No we upgraded by just putting it over the top and it trashed the protx set up for us, it also did it when I applied the latest version. It didn't when we went V-08 to V-09 just the latest upgrade.
The tip about the saved backup was a great help though.

I still think the way PROTX is configured is crap, why you should have to edit occ files still seems silly to me
The encryption key will need to be re-added to the 'OCCPROTXScriptTemplate.pl' file after each upgrade (it is being looked at for a future release). If you haven't had to do this then the only thing I can think of is that the version number in the OCCUpgrade.ini file has reached the same number as the new version (although there should be plenty of space between version numbers to allow for this). It is always best to check that the encryption key is in the script after an upgrade before uploading to be on the safe side.
Just for information, there are a number of ongoing developments of Actinic Payments. These should see the light of day over the next few months.
They include confirmation emails, hosting of CSS and images in a secure area provided by Actinic and free integrated fraud checking. The latter should have a higher level of integration than any other solution. We are also ensuring that 3D Secure for Maestro can be implemented independent of turning it on for other cards. Watch this space.

Any news about the secure hosting of CSS and images?
My SSL cert is due for renewal this week and I think it's a bit of a waste of money just to host custom AP css and logo. I've had the site SSL turned off for some weeks now and if anything I think I have had more orders because the checkout area is a lot faster.
You dont need your own ssl, we offer a secure ftp area for actinic payment images for anyone so if you have one somewere else or know of someone else who has one then you can use that.
The ability to host spayments images and CSS ecurely on an Actinic server is very, very close. I'll try to get the exact day it will becoem available posted asap.

That was the conclusion I came to, which is why I'm not renewing my SSL cert.
I just tried to order your package, but googlecheckout said you don't accept it anymore and paypal just showed me a blank screen.
Your hosing packages look good too. If I hadn't just renewed my existing I would have swapped over.
PS. Like the tv commercial for CA building plastics :-)

This should become available during Monday 18 May.

That was my fault, i forgot to accept Google Checkouts new terms of service and it lapsed (have to wait for them to turn it back on ). Not sure about the paypal though, am investigating now, it all seems ok. I know it has been working as i have had a few new sign ups this week. Gremlins probably
I have to be fair and say, no experience of AP but PROTX/SAGE works well for us, no failed payments to speak of only prob we ever had was website being on a slow server in the early days. Moved to Actinic hosting then no problems at all.
