      The good old PDQ machine

people order, we process there card with the PDQ machine, we send there order
been doing this for 4 years approx, no problems, well just 1 frued but that was about 3 years ago,

this is all in the other thread

but as i say not once have we been told by cardsave / streamline about the pci-dss

Monday will be the deciding factor, as over the weekend we take a lot more orders

personally i would not purchase from a site that only offer paypal, in my eyes it has a stigma around it.

As soon as you can get a psp setup, if your getting that many orders then it will pay for itself in the cheaper transaction charges and your look more professional IMHO

A couple of years ago i would agree with Darren that i wouldn't buy from a store that only offered Paypal. Mainly because it smacked of underfunding a website and/or a bedroom business.

However since then things have changed, paypal has got more market share and a little more credibility and has the advantage of not disclosing CC detail to the store owner. for a few years now i have not shopped on a site that appears to process cc themselves by download as this leaves your personal info on a pc within the shop owners premises (often laptop ripe for thieving).

Whilst it may be true your merchant provider has not mentioned pci to you yet, you are sticking your head in the sand as sooner or later they will. Best to get the correct solution now rather than a tuppneybit solution that you will need to upgrade.

I guess i have a jaded view but its from my own experiences, im not saying dont use it, i have it and i get a few orders via paypal. Perhaps its having too much knowledge on how easy it would be to setup a company offering paypal and then disapearing overnight. To be fare the man / woman on the street probably does not realise this.

I get about 50% of my orders paid via Paypal nowadays. It's a BIG share here!

Likewise, when I'm buying online, I ALWAYS look for a merchant that accepts Paypal so I can pay using it.
Mostly because there's usually money there. There isn't in my bank LOL

this is true of a lot of people, they sell stuff in ebay and buy from their pp acct.
