    Paypal pending...

    Hi All,
I have read the threads on here, and as far as I can tell, this query doesn't fit any that have already been answered, so...
I have recently set up Paypal Website Payments (std) on an 8.5.3 site and it works fine... except the completed payment stays in pending - not pending PSP.

Having checked, all other payments (SagePay) stay in pending PSP and have done since inception (4 years ago!), the client checks validity through received emails.

Is this something I should be concerned about? and try to fix? if so please can anyone help?

The client currently exports via Actinic link to Quickbooks from pending PSP, and can probably do the same with the Paypal payments in pending, but if there is a quickfix to completed for all transactions, it would be good to do it.

    Any suggestions/advice greatly appreciated.

Your post is a little confused, but here's what should happen:

    - Orders that have been paid should be in the 'Pending' tab. They'll stay here until you mark the items as shipped and print out the invoice when they'll move to 'Completed'.

    - Orders that have no payment should be in the 'Pending PSP' tab.

'Exporting' the order bypasses Actinic's order processing and moves the order straight to the completed tab.

From what I can tell your paypal setup is working correctly but your sagepay setup isn't.

The best thing is to look at what's happening with sagepay and fix it. It sounds as if the sagepay callback isn't working properly.

Thanks for your fast response Mike. Yes I am a little confused, but from your post paypal is actually working fine (with client shipping and invoicing it to completion). Do you have any suggestions regarding the sagepay callback? I'll have a search meantime.

The first thing I'd do is place a test order using sagepay to see what the customer's experience is.

If the callback isn't happening then there's a good chance the customer doesn't see the receipt page which also means the customer emails aren't being sent.

The instructions for setting up sagepay are here: http://community.actinic.com/showthread.php?t=45021

Remember the bit at the bottom as well about the password etc.

Thanks for your help, Mike. But this is a little more complicated than it first appears. The client sells online orders for events, ticketless orders where the receipt is proof of purchase. Processing at the client's office requires allotting the customer a place at the event and sending out an e-information pack. No invoice or shipping required. They export orders to IIF file using Actinic to QB link.

When I first designed the site 4 years ago, I had to create a work around which allowed the client to charge 2.5% surcharge on credit card orders only; essentially creating two sagepay PSPs. Which is a bit clunky but works fine.

The customer and client side of a sagepay transaction works perfectly including callback and email. However, the client has been changing the payment method while processing the order and I think this is what moves the order to the ‘PSP pending’ screen, where it stays even after export. I have asked the client to process the next couple of orders without changing the payment method to see if this moves the order to ‘completed’. Waiting to hear back.

Paypal orders though, are delivered straight to ‘PSP pending’ (not pending as per my first post) even though the customer transaction is perfect and customer/client side emails confirm successful payment.

Please can you provide any advice on this? (Fingers crossed)

There is a thread in the knowledge base below (under psps) on things to check for paypal orders going into psp pending. I can't copy and paste the link, so you'll need to look for it. (Not being funny but I don't know how to copy a link on an ipad).

Many thanks for your help Mike, I'll have a look (missed that one!). Re ipad, is it not like an iphone, where you keep your finger on the link and that brings up different options? (only have iphone not ipad so its a guess).
