I've been getting the same problem. Take a look at my post below. Has the problem been solved yet?

      Hi Aggies,

Bruce isn't around today so I'm looking at your issue. I've tried running a non-actinic script from your cgi-bin (http://www.e-plethora.com/cgi-bin/helloworld5.pl) and I get:

      An error has occurred
An error occurred while serving this page. The error was ""

It looks as though perl is not set up correctly on the server. Can you check this with Claranet please.

Mark, your issue may not be the same as this. Can you also export your settings and email them to the email address that Bruce gave and I'll take a look - I will probably reply to your other post.

          TraceyG.

Thanks for your reply. The problem has now been resolved. The culprit was WebSite Creator within the 1&1 Control Panel which I believe was limiting the site to 25 pages.

The problem is detailed here: http://community.actinic.com/showthread.php?t=16253

            Hi Everyone,

I cannot give you any information on how the problem was solved because it just did! After being on hold everyday for at least 30min by Clara and losing hope, I tried one more time to upload. Still got that 'error while merging' warning. When I tried my web site, every little detail was live!
I believe in God now more than ever!

Thank you all for your help through your posts. This will remain a mystery.

The only change I made during this time is upgrade from ADSL to Ethernet. I don't know if it makes sense to any of you

            Take care
