You all sound so calm and collected. I have been trying to upload a site put together through the Catalog software and I'm so lost that I don't know where I'm lost.
I find the slight changes in terminology bewildering so please bear with me if I appear to have learning difficulties.
So, basically all I've done is added a bit of structure, a bit of text and some images within the structure provided by the Catalog software. The site looked OK in the offline preview but we are so unsure of whether even that is right that we thought we would upload the site to see how it worked before spending weeks on loading up all of the products.
We bought some hosting from a firm called Bulkregister.
At various times I have clicked on to all of the various buttons under the web tab - generate scripts, generate website etc. but I presumed that the key one was the one that reads "configure website details".
The very first question had me confused hostname/address - is it "our name" www.fincashop.com or, as seemed more was it something related to the Bulkrgister people so I sent the email to them given as an email template (like the one at the top of this forum section) and I got some answers. Despite several attempts all that happens is that somewhere along the line I get some sort of error message and the whole thing grinds to a halt.
What I need is someone to guide me through the process.
The wizard does take me to a point where it is asking for directories for the cgi-bin directory and webroot directory. At that point the folder structure has / and below that db, logs, StatsData and www. Within www there is a folder called actalog and another called cgi-bin but I have tried using any number of those folders as the answer to the "where are the cgi-bin and webroot without success."
I have attached the email I got back from the hosting people.
All I can hope is that one of you is bored enough to help me out - I am going bald with the headscratching.

What is the path from the directory in which the cgi-bin executes to my
web site directory?

(e.g. Login: Joe, Password: qr001)
For Windows, your hosting account name and password will be your ftp login/pw.
For Linux, you'll use Plesk to define the ftp usernames and passwords.

Once I am logged into the FTP session, what is the path to the CGI
script directory? (e.g. cgi-bin, ..\cgi-bin, /www/server/cgi-bin, etc.)

What is the path from the cgi directory to the Catalog directory as seen
by the FTP server (see note (i) below and leave blank if FTP sees things

I don't understand what you mean by "Catalog", but FTP will see things similarly to CGI .
