Having had problems uploading to a 2000 server I have arranged new hosting at clara.net.
The configure website details wizard goes up to the point of trying it's 3,000,000 guesses at the "CGI-BIN" address (which always amuses me since the previous step is me TELLING the software where this is!).
This comes up with this error...
So I enter all the correct parameters into the manual Network Settings box and hit test...
to get this error message

Needless to say this is just a loop from one method of configuration back to the other....
The acatalog folder exists off the root of the www root as does a cgi-bin folder...
Both are set to chmod 755 as standard but I have tried setting them to 777 as suggested in the advanced guide but this makes no difference....
HELP!!!!
I don't want to have to try a third host!!! This is starting to cost me money as the site was supposed to be live about a month ago!!!

Actinic Ecommerce is not able to run the CGI scripts on the server. It appears as if the scripts are not installed. Run Web | Configure Web Site Details... to review your web site configuration
The web server returned error code 404 - Requested URL not found. This means Actinic Ecommerce can not execute the CGI scripts on your web site. Run Web | Configure Web Site Details... to check web setup.
