I don't think you'll get Actinic to work with Freeola unless you are dialled up with them though. This could be a stumbling block.
There are several hosts on this board and various 'recommended hosts' threads which, I am sure, will come up in a search.

Hmm, yeah, that has been an issue before, didn't think of that. I did send them the email from this thread as advised, and all their answers came back positive. Will confirm the connection issue though.

Thanks again. I am new to all this (only 2 weeks) so am glad to have someone to ask when needed.

Tech support at Fasthosts have just confirmed to me that Streamline are using their hosting facilities.

They have also confirmed that they don't have a clue what to do about it until they are able to liaise with Actinic on Monday morning.

They did say that if you keep trying long enough, it will eventually work. They are still insisting that they have not changed anything on their servers.

It would appear the problem is growing have you seen this thread http://community.actinic.com/showthread.php?t=39081

I have a feeling this problem is not going to go away in a hurry, my advice is to move hosts and i would say this to everyone with these sorts of issue.

I have spent hours in the past chasing problems these normally turn into days and when you total the hours spent it would have been quicker to transfer the hosting, it took me a while sometimes, being the stubborn bugger i am but these days my time is worth a lot more.

So Fasthosts are now blaming Actinic - no surprise there then!

Beware - I managed to "download" some orders once this weekend - a freaky 2 minutes of "working". Only they are not now appearing in Actinic, nor on the server and so are now lost!

might be better to link these 2 threads as they are discussing the same problem with Fasthosts

you did indeed, i thought i'd have another go at closing this thread in favour of the other one - keep it all in one place etc etc etc.

Maybe Actinic can close this one, as we all know its best to have one topic in one thread rather than dribs and drabs all over the place
