What permissions are you using? 777 & 755?

Can I suggest you don't use the wizard to set up your network settings. Just import the settings I posted.

you have setup ftp access to the whole root on your server, not the domain name you are trying to upload to. Looking at your screen shot i see you have mulltiple domains under one account.

setup an ftp account that only has access to thecreativefoundry.co.uk when you create it the directory should say /public_html/thecreativefoundry.co.uk/

then use this ftp account for this site only

Now you should have a cgi-bin under this directory on your server. Im guessing here these directories were created using the addon domains under your control panel not with an ftp program?

if youi created them with an ftp program then it is unlikely to work.

can you confirm if you using cpanel?

yes I phoned and asked them this morning, they said it would be fine, and it is a linux server, so in theory it should be okay.
I'm getting somewhere, though I think. i created a new ftp account as darren suggested with public_htm/thecreativefoundry.co.uk/ and tried again with Web's settings as so:

Hi Web (or can i call you Rich?) There is definitely a cgi-bin directory there, with permissions set to 755. I just called memset again, and they have said that there should not be a problem running actinic on their server.

two things your missing the preceeding / form the PATHTOCGIBIN please try PATHTOCGIBIN /cgi-bin/

also your path the perl should be /usr/bin/perl although not always but normally on nix servers

also the cgi-bin is this under the thecreativefoundry.co.uk directory?

and did you create the folders manually (thecreativefoundry.co.uk) or was this created when you added an addon domain to your hosting plan?

these questions are important before we try anything else
