    Uploading to Netcetera - problems

Has anyone uploaded an Actinic store to Netcetera's Commerce Package hosting?

    I'm getting the following error:
"An error ocurred while merging files on the remote site. The web site index has been corrupted. Copy ./acatalog/fulltext.fil to ./acatalog/oldtext.fil failed. Permission denied."
This occurs whether I'm doing a Site Update or a Refresh.

I have double-checked all settings and they are exactly the same as Netcetera's v4 example, apart from the SMTP, for which they'd provided the wrong setting. The example can be seen at http://help.inetc.net/actinic/

I contacted their support and the reply was:
"Have you inadvertently reuploaded the file manually? Perl scripts etc are very sensitive to being uploaded in binary. This will most likely be a text based file in which case an ASCII transfer needs to take place. To resolve this you will need to revert this file from a backup on your local machine."

I have re-upoaded fulltext.fil, in ASCII format, and it makes no difference - can anyone help?

    TIA
    Malcolm

I would ftp to the site and remove all .fil files and then do a refresh

Thanks, Jo. That looked as if it was going to work, I deleted all the .fil files and it uploaded OK. However, although the brochure pages work OK, the store pages are returning a "General Script Error". I did a Site Refresh and got the same error as before.

Looking on the server, the usual directories are missing; COM | Actinic | Catalog, there's just a directory called __ActinicCgiTestSampleDir which I assume is part of the Netcetera setup.

I replied to the support guy's email, telling him that I hadn't uploaded anything manually, and all I got was a joyful "Support Ticket - RESOLVED" message! I've tried Netcetera support again, although I don't think I'll get far with them.

For some reason it looks as if the actalog is not uploading correctly. The only thing I can suggest is to completely wipe the site from the web server and try a clean upload. ensure that your cgi-bin is 755 and the acatalog folder is gone.

Then check what is on the server
