If I was you I'd try 'ftp.xka2k.com' as your ftp server address. I suspect that's probably what you need to use to get into your web space.

I did try this as a test and there's definitely ftp access set up there ( though obviously I couldn't get in without a password).

Hi there, I just tried that and it wouldnt work. still getting this error:

Your Catalog URL appears to be invalid. The files uploaded to the given 'Path from cgi-bin to acatalog directory', can not be downloaded via the browser on the given Catalog URL. These two access routes don't point to the same destination on the server.

Just dont know what this is about?

I don't think your path for cgi-bin to acatalog is right. I have a public_html directory on my server but that doesn't appear in my path from cgi-bin to acatalog settings.

          Mine is just ../acatalog/

try that and see if it works.

This is what I get when I run t he wizard from scratch:

The wizard recieved an error while verifying the web server. Error sending request.

I enetered http://www.xka2k.com for the website address!??

tried ../acatalog/ and that didnt work either. This is really starting to get to me now!!

Oops, I forgot to change the Path from CGI-BIN to acaatalog in the SSL part!!

Now when I test I keep getting : The date in the certifiacte is invaled or has expired.

One thing after another isnt it!? Getting closer though I think!

I would very strongly recommend getting your non-SSL store working before worrying about the SSL side of things.

De-select 'SSL On' in 'Business Settings | Payment and Security' and then run the test again.

Hi there, I have now got the SHOP feature on my site up and running, I had no errors when uploading after going through all the answers to my questions on here again one by one. The funny thing is that i got errors when I tested before uploading? The only thing I have found to be wrong with the site is that when I go to the Cart or Checkout the images are broken, but im sure this isnt too hard too fix. Also when I try to pay for something using the site I get 2 strange messages 1:
www.picotechnology.co.uk is a site that uses a security certificate to encrypt data during transmission, but its certificate expired on 20/12/2003 11:09pm

Then once I continue I get:

You have attepmted to establish a connection with www.xka2k.com. However the security certificate belongs to www.picotechnology.co.uk. It is possible though unlikely that someone may be trying to intercept your communication with this website
If you suspect that the certificate shown does not belong to www.xka2k.com please cancel the connection and contact the site admin.

Hmmm, I think this could be something to do with me buying Actinic secondhand, do i have to buy a new certificate?

                    Thanks for the help.

It won't be anything to do with second hand Actinic.

Did you de-select 'SSL On' in 'Business Settings | Payment and Security' like I suggested? This will run the cart and the checkout under http rather than https and allow you to check it is basically working.

Then re-enable SSL and check your SSL-URLs tab in 'Advanced | Network Setup' for any reference to www.picotechnology.co.uk

Hi thanks. I ran the test after daisbling SSL and it was fine. When Itruned SSl back on the test failed saying :" the date in the certificate is invalid or has expired."

I checked for any references to picotechnology is the SSL URL in Advanced/Network Setup but there were none. Is there anywhere else that they might be?

Thanks for the continued help, it is much appreciated.

So has anyone got any ides about this "date in the certifiacte has expired or is invalid" error I keep keep when I turn the SSL back on and test the site in Network Setup?

Any help is gratefully recieved as I have been stuck with this problem for quite a while now.

                          Thanks in advance.

When I just try and browse to https://www.xka2k.com/acatalog/ I get an Internet Explorer error talking about an expired certificate from picotechnologies.com. Therefore, it is not an Actinic issue.

I think you need to talk to your webhost and ask them why you have an invalid SSL certificate installed on your server. It might be one left over from a previous occupant.

Ok thanks for the help. just got a friend to have a look at my site he turned this up:

                              http://www.xka2k.com/cgi-bin/ts000001.pl

It seems there are a few errors on the site too?

That is just a script Actinic uses to test the webspace. You don't need to worry about it.

With regards to all the other errors, you have loads. You really need to register a support email request at http://www.actinic.co.uk/support/register.htm and have someone look at it for you.
