the nature of the server means that its very difficult to provide a 30 day trial. I've not entirely ruled it out, but its going to be fairly complex.

i do however have a solution to your access, and it does not require any fiddling with settings at all.

hamachi. it works all the time, regardless of the configuration of the network.

      Tracey,
I think a word with your "shared network administrator" could be in order. They should be able to set up "port forwarding" on your network to allow external traffic to a specific port to be routed to your Actinic work machine.
      It's a little fiddly, but........
i.e. You set up a domain or other address to "route" to your shared network from the internet (e.g. an actinet.budgetbumps.co.uk A record could be changed to do this), the network admin would then set up all requests for "http://actinet.budgetbumps.co.uk" that arrive at the network to route to your machine, allowing you external access.

thanks Fergus, I'll look into that (typically, our network is managed by a company 30 miles from us rather than having anyone who knows anything about it actually in the building )

                special request

i need someone to test Actinet with windows vista.

if anyone out there can spare a moment to test vista for me, that'd be great.

its a quick test, so if you'd like to help, i need a quick response. just a quick install and feature check would do it. it should take no more than 10 mins to test if the latest installer works well.

                thanks!

                  Hi Gabriel,

I've got Actinic in both Vista and XP if you need a test doing this evening.

                  Regards

                    an online demo

Here is an online demo of Actinet.

Saving is disabled on orders and products for the moment, but it will let you look at the interface and see how it all works. Later on, i'll create a full fake shop to go with this demo, complete with orders and other such content.

                    pass: guest

nb: until i get a faster server, this is hosted on a fairly slow connection. please be patient, this isnt the speed it'll be on your network! it'll be much faster!

                              Would Lee's suggestion
We need an interface to download orders from all ten sites, not do them individually etc.
                              from this thread;
                              http://community.actinic.com/showthr...019#post184019
be something useful that could be integrated.

Or is that a whole new ball game?

You can only download into Actinic one site at a time. We have a tool that allows you to download them automatically in turn though (One Stop Automation multisite - this morning by the way is the last chance to buy version specific licenses for OSA, I'm moving it onto timed licenses this afternoon).
