Indead - we could come up with a site specification so applicants know what they are getting and who is providing it.

Lets get Actinic Towers onboard with a page on thier site so that it is left as an example of what can be done with Actinic in 24hrs - good marketing for them as well.

As part of the seo I would suggest we get forum members to slowly add links to the 24hr site to help with link popularity.

All designers involved would link to the site from thier homepages - advertising thier involvement.

Google Analytics should be fitted as standard to the site.

If the winner is new to Actinic how about the offer of a days training - there are enough of us to cover most the country.

Its already happening here on the forum - if Actinic also put up a page then that would be enough.

We could start a thread for buyers to add their offers and site requirements - at a cut off date people could vote for the most deserving offer

I'd have thought most people on the forum are current users rather than potential users though...so aren't you limiting it a bit?

If someone can come up with an advert of sorts, maybe we can all find places to "advertise" it too?

as i said, if we as punters had an idea or rough guide on how much services normally cost we can place offers accordingly

or you as a designer or group of designers could say offer a 5 section website with lets say 100 products fully Seo etc for offers around £££££££

or whatever if the "norm" starter site?

You would be surprised! - there are far more lurkers out there that never post - many potential buyers checkout the forum first before buying.

You would not notice it but designers will know the amount of traffic that comes from the forum and the calls/emails we get from people wanting sites built - why do you think Im always Closed

I do know what you mean though and I have noticed the number of "guests" on the forum always (24/7) FAR outweighs the number of members so I guess that makes sense.

Would hurt to advertise elsewhere either though, would it? If there was somewhere central to direct people to for information

You would never get an answer because every site is different.

The best way as I said earlier is to write a specification for the site so you the punter know what you are getting and decide if its worth it.

You could then take that spec and ask for quotes from a few people to check value for money

I presume with the lack of response from Actinic, they are not interested. Therefore, it's down to us it would appear if we are going to do this. Still can't really see what's the favoured idea, a workshop or a complete site design?
