The code I posted is used in some of my add-ons so I'll remove these posts now you've got it running.

Sorry for dragging up an old post, but does any know if the code for Gabriel's dynamic search feature was ever issued.

Alternatively has anybody else developed a dynamic search results plugin that shows the results as you type with product images and price.

I am still on V9 but fairly sure this has not been built into Actinic V10 or V11, although would make a nice feature for V12.

Nearly all of my larger competitors now have dynamic searching on their sites and feel this is a feature that should be built into Actinic as standard in the near future (please).

          Hi,

We have moved away from the Actinic search using a company called SLI-Systems.

They don’t have a product that integrates with Actinic, we replaced the Actinic search with theirs, we basically send them an XML file with all our products in, with URL’s and things like descriptions, part numbers, price etc.. and they build the search function. Seems to work quite well.

I imagine some sort of CSE or Google shopping feed could be adapted to work with them.

Try it at www.printerbase.co.uk and use the search box in the top right hand corner, try a search for ML-3310nd.

It's worth saying that we are looking very hard at search at the moment, so it may be worth waiting a few months.

I can't say more than that.

Darren, co-incidentally, we have been working on just a plugin for Actinic.
You can see the early BETA demo of it here:
              http://www.teclan.com/examples/dynamicsearch/index.html

It is dynamically built from within Actinic and therefor updates with content tree updates etc.
Currently it utilises the AJAX autocomplete plugin with some Actinic specific customisations.

We have been looking at several customisation options for clients, however these have not been finalised.

If this is something you are after then please PM me from the forum or give the team a call and we'll see what we can do to help.
