Any news on the basic integration of GC yet? There are many of us who still want this feature very badly. My competitors are still taking my customers away. In fact, one of my more regular customers emailed today asking if we could match the offer as it was too good to turn down. If he goes to another site and stays there, I estimate we will lose over a grand in profits over the next 12 months. How many more will I lose?
I can't even say I blame him.
Actinic made this comment on Thursday:
"It's at the design stage at the moment as we're trying to cut it down from the original hundreds of days. When we have a design we're happy with, we'll start coding."
congrats to actinic for managing to sweep this under the table. I believe the £10 offer ends on the 11th of June meaning I've successfully missed out on the promotion.
Slap wrists must go to Actinic for excluding us all from early adoption and any marketing benefit.
However it might have been cleverer of Google to have got shopping cart SW vendors on board earlier.
Google CO is undoubtedly going to have the edge of PayPal. We were invited by Google under an NDA back at the beginning of '07 to participate in the beta roll out. At the time we expressed an interst but realised the integration problem. We did raise it with Google and Actinic at the time.
This is becoming even more of a problem now for us - two direct competitors have adopted GC and are prominently placed in adwords for our chosen keywords
for me this would be a non starter, i can't see that having to process google checkout payments outside of actinic being any thing except painful.
That said i don't really understand why google checkout is such a big deal. Do people really think that by not offering it you lose a sale?
All the offers by Google at the mo are just loss leaders to get people using it, I suspect in 6/12 months time it will have reached a point at which maybeit will be 5% pf totals sales through the checkout. and we'll all be wondering what the fuss was about.

I want to vote for it in V7 please. As for what are the benefits, I want it to reduce my transaction fees from 2.5% to 2%, not to mention it's free for the rest of tis year, PLUS my adwords spend reduces my transaction fees once they do start charging...
Come on Actinic, the time you have givene to implement it at 2.5 man years is just plain daft. I'm a software developer and know this for a fact. You need to sack your dev team if this is the kind of estimate they are giving you.
