    i dont know what this is asxxxxxxx.pmc this file is not something i ever recall seeing, but seems to have been the problem.

    With AP you can customise the pages maybe not to be exactly the same as your site

            gosh, 3 years sure does seem a long time ago. i think what i did there is replace my cart links with a hardcoded address "cgi-bin/osxxxxxx.pl?action=start" instead of the actinic created one. ive not had severe hanging since, but every now and then, it doesnt get a bit slow, so i delete all the sessions locked files and whether it does help or not, i feel a bit better for having done it usually.
