Actinoogle updated (v7 bug)

OK, the Actinoogle script has been updated (to 1.17) so it handles the erroneous whitespace that the latest patch for v7 introduced to the header lines. You can get a copy (and try out the demo) at

Froogle - my solution

I have v7 Developer Actinic, and the auto-generated Froogle feed did not work because prices did not include VAT.

Also I found that the title/descriptions I had used within the Shop did not really work as stand alone descriptions on Froogle

Finally, there were two lines at the top,
# html_escaped=YES
# quoted=YES
which Froogle does not seem to want.

My solution was to auto generate the feed, open as a .txt doc in Excel, edit accordingly i.e. change prices to include VAT, remove top two lines, edit descriptions, etc.

I did something similar for Kelkoo

Now go to Froogle and enter "Chewbacca costume", and you will find all my products listed.

Yes Sally, what you describe is what's always going to happen since Actinic's export meets the US Homeland format for Froogle, and for reasons we're not about to argue over, Froogle UK had to use a different format, intentionally to prevent cross-posting.

What you do manually in Excel, you can do automatically with Actinoogle in about 5 seconds, and it's free. Sometimes, things that are too good to be true are true all the same. *wink*

I recently upgraded to v7 and then 'installed' the new version of Actigoogle (or what ever its called!!) on my host server. It is a joy to use to get my 800+ products updated and as pointed out, only takes about 30 seconds.
