There seems to have been fundamental errors in the progression from Protx to Sage, IMO. But, I can't stress enough how impressed I've been with the Sage/Protx support team, they have been first class under what must be very trying circumstances.
Just to update, one of my clients who does over 1000 transactions per week on slimming products has had no decline in orders at all since the new branding and as actually recorded an increase in orders in the last two weeks beyond any other trading week in her business.
So I personally don't feel that those who are complaining about loss of sales since the branding change have a valid argument.
I'm still available if anyone is having any outstanding issues.
Many thanks,
Joe

I sent you a personal message last week but haven't received a reply. Can you please get someone to contact me regarding switching over the URLs from Protx to Sage Pay. And I'm also not sure how to change the message on our website when it transfers the user to the payment system (it still mentions Protx).
As it happens, one of our developers is working this very moment with the great guys at Actinic to put together some instructions on how to make the changes in a step by step format.
There will also be an upgrade available later on that will make the changes for you, so you will have options!
Theres my update; I'll let you know once it's 'out there'!
Kind wishes,
Joe
Hi Joe
Any news on these instructions?
I've been waiting patiently for them since you posted this message 20 days ago,
but unless you've published them elsewhere I can't see them here.
After seeing this thread I dropped them an email mentioning the vendor names I manage - after replying saying please quote a vendor name... they emailed the below. I went through my emails and only found a paragraph in one of the invoices saying they were re-branding - pretty poor imho..
1. Close Actinic.
2. Open Notepad - if you are using Windows Vista, you should right click on Notepad in the Windows Start menu and select 'Run as Administrator'.
3. Browse with Notepad to your Actinic installation, by default this is 'C:Program FilesActinic v9'.
4. Browse to 'OCCUpgrade' and open a file called 'OCCUpgrade.ini'
Note: It is strongly recommended that you make a backup of 'OCCUpgrade.ini' before making any changes.
5. At the top of the file, you will see:
[Version]
Number=1500
Note: the number will not necessarily be 1500.
6. Increment the number by 1, e.g. 1500 becomes 1501
7. Search for the word 'PROTX', you will see
PROTX=22
Change this to be Sage Pay=22
8. Search for the word 'PROTX' again, you will see:
ProviderName='PROTX'
Change this to be ProviderName='Sage Pay'
9. Look down a few lines from where you have just made the change, you will see:
ProviderURL='https://ukvps.protx.com/vspgateway/service/'
Change this to be:
ProviderURL='https://live.sagepay.com/gateway/service/'
10. Look down 3 more lines, you will see:
DBProviderURL='https://ukvpstest.protx.com/vspgateway/service/'
Change this to be:
DBProviderURL='https://test.sagepay.com/gateway/service/'
11. Save the file and close Notepad.
12. Open Notepad again, if you are using Vista you should run in Administrator mode.
13. Browse to 'C:Program FilesActinic v9OCCUpgradeCommonOCC' using Notepad and open 'Act_OCCPROTXTemplate.html'
Note: It is strongly recommended you backup this file before starting work. Also note that if you have multiple sites, and have customised the PROTX bounce page, you should make a copy of them, they can be found, by default in 'My DocumentsActinic v9Sites<SiteName>CommonOCC Act_OCCPROTXTemplate.html'
14. Locate the line that says
<BR>You will now be automatically transferred to the Protx VSP secure server
Change it to read;
<BR>You will now be automatically transferred to the Sage Pay VSP secure server
15. Save the file and close Notepad.
16. Open Actinic, you will notice that is performs an upgrade on the Payment Service Providers, this is fine.
17. Upload your site, and test you can place an order using Sage Pay online.
If it does not work, close Actinic restore your default 'OCCUpgrade.ini', and increment the number by 2, and also restore your 'Act_OCCPROTXTemplate.html', restart Actinic and upload the site.
Then try making all the changes detailed in the abone instructions again.
Perhaps that should be added to the KB for those not wanting to upgrade to v9.0.4.
9.0.4 seems more stable than 9.0.3 at the moment so would advise that sites are upgraded to 9.0.4 - it also upgrades the software and changes Protx > SagePay automatically.
