The problem is, I don't even get an Actinic timed out or connection failed pop up. The FTP just gets stuck and after about five minutes on the file I do CTRL ALT Delete and it shows that the program is not responding. I have been keeping a note of the files that get stuck but it seems to be completely random.
I know I as the originator of this post and didn't report back (shameful of me!)
I think my problem turned out to be a hosting issue. Someone else uploaded my site, from a snapshot, for me and, while it was very very slow, they did manage a successful upload eventually.
In the end, it fixed itself so I put it down to hosting problems at the time
http://www.bikinishack.co.uk/ is this your site? - if it is then the acatalog has been removed an my be the cause of the problem. Discussed several times recently on the forum.
If this was the case surely I wouldn't be able to a refresh or update at all, this is an intermitent problem.
Budget bumps, do you do regular uploads to your site, I upload my site quite a few times a day to keep stock levels up to date. If you have time could you try a few uploads to see if the same problem is still there?

You say FTP gets stuck - to me this is the same as a timeout - given you say this is random the problem is still more likely to be your connection
was it an isp problem?
i have a site tested on 2 servers, ive reinstalled programme imported numerous snapshots
keeps giving errors during cat file uploads
help please people im going mad
Remembering the road to Actinic enlightenment is a long and sometimes painful one.
