    Kind regards,
Almost another month has past............ so its now been 15 months that Actinic have known about this bug but left it unfixed.

Today alone, I have just spent 30 mins emailing customers explaining why they cant have all the products they ordered as we are out of stock. This is a direct result of the stock control bug.

Have the 'powers that be' in Actinic decided when some man-hours and resources could be spent fixing this bug?

      Hi Pete

Thanks for the reminder. I do understand your frustrations, but our priority at the moment is to get a good stable version of v8 out that everyone is happy with. As soon as that's done, we will be releasing a final maintanance patch for v7 that will include this fix.

You seem to be suggesting that version 8 is unstable/bad? How comes the Actinic website is still happily selling it for £799?

Its a shame the priority wasnt getting version 7 fully debugged before releasing version 8.

The thing is its a man-hours/resource problem for us too. We paid £800 for a solution which was meant to give us advanced stock control and therfore REDUCE OUR workload, but now we find we are having more problems than we did with our free store. Actinic are lucky that people dont find these bugs untill AFTER they have spent several weeks getting their store ready or many people would be asking for their money back.

          Its now 16 months.......

Surely version 8 isnt that bad?

Have Actinic bosses even scheduled the version 7 update yet?

16 Months is a very long time to wait for such an important bug fix.

Any news of when this bug will be fixed? Has the version 7 update been scheduled yet?

It's just starting the internal testing at the moment - so it should be out on beta in a week or two unless we find a critical problem with it.

The release includes lots of changes to support Windows Vista (to do with digitally 'signing' all parts of the application) so it's taken longer than expected to prepare the release. Thanks for your patience.

Is the update available yet? I have looked on the website but can not see anything?

OK - the core 7.0.7 application will contain fixes to support IE7 and Vista. It will not automatically include the fix to make components respect the max order quantities of associated products.

However, a script patch to fix just this issue will be available to download for anyone who needs it.

Everything is going through our internal testing at the moment. Seems to be working fine with Vista and IE7. As soon as internal testing is over we'll do a beta. This will happen very soon.

                    Stock/Components Bug Fix

We have been waiting patiently also for this bug to get a patch. It causes customer recovery issues on the old items in our catalog that use this catalog structure. If the bug is fixed we will go back to this type of layout.

Please let us know when the new V7 patch is available!

I put 'offline' in capitals as there is still an outstanding ONLINE problem with stock levels of associated products not decrementing if the main (master) product is not stock monitored - but there is a clear workaround for this one (stock monitor the master products).

Also, the problem you experienced with the stock levels of PSP-pending orders going down incorrectly when shipping items has been fixed in 7.0.6.
I've just upgraded to v7.0.6 to 'cure' this one, but didn't realise I have to stock control the master product (difficult as too many changing lines, I'm sure I'll forget and let the master stock run out!). Would really appreciate a good fix please.

                          Pete

It will be made available once 7.0.7 has completed its beta testing program. If you don't hear anything about this as soon as v707 is released, drop me an email at cdicken /at/ actinic /dot/ co /dot/ uk to chase me up on this.

Miranda - you quote three different stock issues in your post, and I'm afraid I don't know which one you are referring to. Please start a new thread detailing your issues and someone should be able to help you out.

                            Hi
Is this likely to be a few days, weeks, months? As business is increasing exponentially, so is the problem that this is causing. We are on the verge of taking everything out of the components and have them all as separate products. That will be time consuming and look daft, but at least it will stop this problem, which is also time consuming and makes us look bad to our customers. The time scale for this patch release is thus crucial to our decision regarding changing the website.

Pete - if you can tell us all what problems the Beta will turn up, we can solve them now instead of going through the Beta.
