So do we assume Actinic has no project deadlines or timescales for this fix/upgrade?

 OK..still nothing?

This bug is infuriating. I am sick to death of having to explain to customers that "yes, I understand that the website let you order 2 of this item but, I'm sorry, we only have 1 in stock in that size" (usually followed by much grovelling and hoping they'll wait til I can re-stock for their second item..which then costs me AGAIN as I have to send it separately)

I have to hold minimal stock..so I can't always have in stock MORE than I need just to avoid this...and I can't use stock control or mess with the max qty orderable on the main product to allow ordering of only 1 when I have 2 or 3 in stock in other sizes.

Please, please pleeeeeeeeeeeeease can we have a timescale for this to be fixed?

It's a MAJOR issue for me nearly every day of the week

 Thanks!Tracey

It's a major issue for me EVERY day and a B***DY nuisance, Chris Dicken has emailed me a patch which allegedly works in V8.5.1 but in view of other peoples problems with V8.5.1 I am not goin to upgrade until I'm sure it works.Originally posted by budgetbumps

In the meantime I am testing other software that alledgedly does do the job and hoping that our investment in Actinic doesn't have to be written off entirely.
Stop Press - just heard that our epos system now has a plug in for Sql based site, to completely integrate stock control and entry of products etc., Yet more to research!

 Hi Tracey

Attached to this post is a zip file containing two perl files. You need to- Upgrade to 7.0.7 (if you haven't done already)
- Unzip these two files to a temporary location
- Copy them into your site folder
- Refresh your store

 [edit - file removed]

ahhhh jees, really? I'm still on 7.0.5

OK...let me build up the confidence to patch to 7.0.7 (which I've actually been looking into this morning anyway)

It's going to be worth it if it fixes this problem.

I would have been less worried about upgrading if I wasn't having snapshot import problems yesterday.
I had to temporarily work from my PC..the snapshot from laptop imported fine onto pc..I received orders so had to do another when transferring back to laptop and this re-import wouldn't work no matter what I tried. I tried compacting databases on PC and running a new snapshot..it'd export fine..but wouldn't import back onto laptop no matter what I did.
I ended up having to recreate the orders I'd received by doing them as offline orders and amending the order numbers in the database to match the ones the customers had generated online.

I'm going to experiment with snapshots first, before doing a dummy upgrade to 7.0.7 on the PC.
I daren't just try it straight on my main machine (laptop!)

 Anyway, thanks, Chris

 OK Chris,
I patched to 7.0.7 this morning...with no problems..
 Everything seems to work fine.

I extracted the files you attached..and copied to my site1 folder..

I tested it and when I clicked on "confirm" or "checkout" I get the following message

It didn't matter what product it was..it did it on everything.Error 500: Internal Server Error

The server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request.

The problem is on the server side, not with your browser or the address. Most probably, a certain service (e.g., Tomcat engine) is down. Please contact your webmaster.

For now, I've recopied over both files from the Original folder so customers can order again.

 What should I try next?Tracey

Hmm - I tried this on my site before sending it to you and it all worked OK.

Do you know whether you've got any other script customisations at your store that could be conflicting?

Also try opening the files in Notepad just to check they all look OK - i.e. there are decent looking line breaks in there.

Failing that, I think you need to get in contact with support and ask them to look at your snapshot and test it for themselves.

To be honest, I have no idea but I'd doubt it.Originally posted by cdickenDo you know whether you've got any other script customisations at your store that could be conflicting?

I don't really know what I'm looking "for" LOLOriginally posted by cdickenAlso try opening the files in Notepad just to check they all look OK - i.e. there are decent looking line breaks in there.

Yes, I might do that in the morning.Originally posted by cdickenFailing that, I think you need to get in contact with support and ask them to look at your snapshot and test it for themselves.
I'll try one more time, unzipping again and copying over. If I get the same problem, I'll contact support.
 CheersTracey
