    Biggest Laughing Fit For Years (ROFLMAO!)

    When I visit the forum, I look at each topic in turn to see what's 'hot'.

    Clicked on this one, starting at page 1, and spent at least twenty minutes avidly reading all about this brilliant fix. (Is it in V8?)

    Then I got to the last post, the one which had bumped the thread up to the top today!

      I still think it would be good to amend the postcode part to allow all numerical postcodes (ie American), to stay `unspaced`.

      I have a scary vision of an American customer sitting trying to place an order and the form's doing his nut in as his zipcode keeps being automatically spaced.

        Not just american postcodes but most european ones are numerical without a space. Definitely a good idea for an upadte.

          The patch has now been updated to ignore spacing on numeric postcodes, and also has an exclude list when using caps, which you can add to if you like - 'Macclesfield' is there to start you off

                If never really looked at v8, but the function will work across any site, Actinic or otherwise, providing it is referenced properly. My instructions recommend adding the function to ActinicExtras.js, but if v8 doesn't have this file then adding it to any other Javascript file that is used by your pages will work too.

                    Just to make sure... as to how to add to this exclude list.... this is the original piece of code...

                    var exclude=['Macclesfield'];

                    and to add, USA for example... would mean... this perhaps?

                    var exclude=['Macclesfield' 'USA'];

                      Almost - you need to separate the words with commas:
                      Code:
                      var exclude=['Macclesfield','USA'];

                        Not liking the all capitalised `USA`, changes it to Usa.

                        Any thoughts?

                                The exclude list is for the pesky prefixes only, so if you write

                                Code:
                                format(this,'capitals')
                                and pass it 'macclesfield', you'll get back 'Macclesfield' not 'MaCclesfield'. It will capitalise the first letter of every word but not bother checking for the Mac prefix. What are you trying to do with USA?
