      I don't think you can just change the protocol by just changing the version number. Try searching the forums for Protx protocol - you'll almost certainly need an Actinic update.

          Update On Protx Payment Problems

          If anyone can comment or help with this it would be much appreciated. Is it just me or are others still having problems with Protx payments?

          We are still getting about 60% of our Protx payments failing and, at least for the ones we can see ourselves, giving the same error

          ---------------------------------------------------------------
          Actinic Catalog - Transaction Completion Failure There was an error
          contacting the Vendor Site.

          An Error Has Occurred on this page!
          The Error Number is: -2147483638
          The Description given is: The data necessary to complete this operation
          is not yet available.
          Please contact protx about this error.

          You have been charged for this transaction although the Vendor may not
          be aware of this. Please contact the Vendor to inform them of this fact
          on enquiries@anythingleft-handed.co.uk

          items and view your online invoice.
          ---------------------------------------------------------------

          I have asked protx support about this and they say...
          ===============================================
          This error -2147483638 occurs when there is a time out within the transaction process. Please contact your ISP to ensure that your system is currently operating correctly.
          ===============================================

          As far as I can see, our hosting is fine and this is not a hosting error (and it never happened until Protx made their changes on 1 August!)

          I have been back and forth with Actinic support for 3 weeks and do not seem to be any closer to sorting this out.

          For the record, the current status of our shopping cart is…

          Actinic V 7.07

          Protx submission URLs changed to the new ones in \OCCUpgrade\OCCupgrade.ini

          [OCCProvider:22]
          ProviderURL='https://ukvps.protx.com/vspgateway/service/'
          RemoteProcessScript='vspform-register.vsp'
          DBProviderURL='https://ukvpstest.protx.com/vspgateway/service/'
          DBRemoteProcessScript='vspform-register.vsp'

          OCCPROTXScriptTemplate.pl includes latest lines

          $sHiddenValues .= "<INPUT TYPE=HIDDEN NAME=\"VPSProtocol\" VALUE=\"2.22\">\n";
          $sHiddenValues .= "<INPUT TYPE=HIDDEN NAME=\"TxType\" VALUE=\"PAYMENT\">\n";
          $sHiddenValues .= "<INPUT TYPE=HIDDEN NAME=\"Vendor\" VALUE=\"$sMerchantID\">\n";

          All changes updates in Actinic and site refreshed so they are active.

          I have hunted the protx support forum without any success. Not sure if this is a Protx problem or is it on the Actinic side?

          Is this a live issue with Actinic developers?

            Is it just my impression? Or are Protx very keen on passing the responsibility onto other people?

              I've not had this issue so I can't help but just wanted to say that the above statement has got to look really bad to customers, hasn't it?
              What kind of impression does that give?
              I hope Protx sort their incompetant asses out soon... I really do

              have you posted this problem on the Protx forums? Might be worth doing as there is some reasonable support on there (moreso than via email support often!)

                Thanks Tracy - Anyone using HSBC as PSP?

                I have now posted on Protx forum as well.

                I have got an account set up with HSBC ready for use as a PSP as well as merchant account but have held off changing because there was a lot of negative comment about their service on the forum.

                Anyone else using HSBC with 3D Secure and happy with it?

                  Reply from Actinic Developers on Protx payment problem

                  Just to keep everyone up to date, here is the reply I have received from Actinic support...

                  ----------------------------------
                  I just got an update from our development team. They say that the problem is at Protx's side and that you will have to contact Protx to solve this problem.
                  ----------------------------------

                  Anyone want to have a guess on what Protx support will say?

                    They'll say it's the customers fault...or yours...or the internet...

                        Latest update on protx problems

                        No reply yet from Protx, but I am sure they will say it is an Actinic problem.

                        In the meantime, I have set up a completely standard example shop in Actinic 8.5.1 and uploaded to a domain I use for testing, plus set up protx as PSP with the NEW submission urls and it all works perfectly.

                        SO, I think it is a problem with the Protx integration in Actinic 7.0.7

                        Anyone know what is different that may be causing the problems?

                          FYI, we're using Actinic 7.0.7, Protx AUTHENTICATE mode, submitting on the new URLs and all is fine, so it would seem that there's something wrong in your Actinic setup or Protx account, rather than a general issue.
                          Can't shed any light on what exactly though - sorry.

                          Cheers,
