zzzzz is a real site, so you may want to edit your post.
If you do not want to post your real site name, then it is impossible to do any investigation into your setup.
Who are you hosted with? There are standard settings for numerous hosts, and if you name the hosting company, someone else who uses the same company can help you.
Are you hosted on a windows server or Linux?
There are people here willing to help you, but you need to give enough information to allow us to do so.Bill

using the search terms 'windows plesk' I found a post from a member who has Actinic working on a Netcetera Windows box, but unfortunately no settings listed. Perhaps he has not seen your posts. If you do the same search, you may be able to mail him through the forum and ask directly for help.

Hi Steve,
It's tricky to advise on net settings when we cant see the directory structure and upload files for perl testing etc...
Can you please log a support ticket here.
If you let us know your FTP details we can logon and hopefully configure the settings for you.Regards,
Toby Blanchard

More problems with Xcalibre

when I run a test from within network settings on in Actinic i get the following alerts (in the order shown)first alert says:
The directory specified as the path from the CGI-BIN to the acatalog directory does not exist on the web server. Check the path. Also see the on-line help for "Path from FTP server to Catalog".
(i click OK)
second alert then says:
The script does not have permission to write to the web site directory.
(but I have checked the permissions and public_html is set at 777 and cgi-bin is 755)
then the test results alert says:

then another alert:

I received the following txt doc from Xcalibre support
Obviously in all of the following examples, you should replace www.yourdomain.name with your own website.
Try using a Catalog URL of http://www.yourdomain.name/acatalog/ along
with these settings :-
> 1) [Configuration : CGI Script ID Number]
Script ID Number 1.
> 2) [Configuration : Mail (SMTP) Server]
smtp.yourdomain.name
> 3) [Configuration : CGI-BIN URL]
http://www.yourdomain.name/cgi-bin/
(Note that the / at the end of the URL is essential - this is the case
with most Actinic URLs)
> 4) [Configuration : Path from CGI-BIN to catalog directory]
> 5) [Configuration : Path to the Perl shell (For Unix servers only)]
/usr/bin/perl
> 6) [Configuration : Perl extension]
Either .cgi or .pl will work fine here.
> 7) [Installation : FTP Server Host]
www.yourdomain.name
> 8) [Installation : Username / Password]
Your regular FTP username and password here, just as you would normally
use for connecting to your site to upload new content in an FTP client.
> 9) [Installation : Path to CGI-BIN]
> 10) [Installation : Path from FTP server to Catalog]
You should be able to leave this blank, but failing that, also use
/www.yourdomain.name/cgi-bin/ in here as well.
I have even uninstalled and re-installed Actinic (V8) (I was running the v8.5.2Beta because I needed the DW CS3 but thought that might be causing a conflict-it wasn't) so I am now on 8.5.1.0.0.0. HIZA
I hope somebody can spot where I am going wrong and can help me...I've aged since I started this!
Thanks

Hi Duncan
I tried that and the test goes through fine until after the results alert box, then i get this alert:
Your Catalog URL appears to be invalid. The files uploaded to the given 'Path from cgi-bin to acatalog directory', can not be downloaded via the browser on the given Catalog URL. These two access routes don't point to the same destination on the server.
I have also cleared the 'path from cgi-bin to acatalog as viewed by ftp server' with the same result.
also if I try to run the wizard from within the advance network setup dialogue when i click next on th e web site address page i get
The wizard received an error while verifyng the web server. Error sending request.
I have also tried 4 pints of guinness but that hasn't worked either.....The Pretty Dress Company

I'll definitetely try that then..
In all seriousness I've never had a problem with them upto now, I've got 65 sites on there now (just moved 30 over from Webfusion- now there is a 10 pinter if ever there was one) it just seems to be they don't get on with Actinic, is it because their CGI-BIN is outside the web root i wonder? The Pretty Dress Company
