You can use this method to run the SQL without Access. Backup your database first. http://community.actinic.com/showthread.php?t=42005

Our server was upgraded in around half an hour today, and a test transaction has gone through fine with the order dropping into Pending.

updates installed - ipn still failing

our hosts installed the modules today, actinic script confirms crypt::SSLeay = 0.51 and net::ssl = 2.77

just tried placing a PayPal order (makes me cross that PayPal are earning commission on these!) it went straight to Pending PSP, i.e. problem not fixed

Checking the IPN history at PayPal for this transaction it says that status is "disabled"

looking further back all transactions back to 2/10 show status= "disabled" and before that, including transactions between 2/10 and 26/10 when this problem started, and before, show status="sent"

          Does this mean anything?

Set up a dummy product for 1p to try it out, a revolution in thinking.

Excited to think that this is now solved. Just a quick one for all you server people out there. I have been onto our server people and they have quoted 2 hours to install these two modules. We are on a Windows Plesk server. Does this sound about right, timewise I mean. I look forward to reading a response.

              Regards.
We did it on all our servers in about 15 minutes so I think 2 hours includes either some profit or some learning time...

Out of interest is there any need for additional firewall rules. By default our servers do not 'call out' unless a specific rules says they can (for obvious reasons).

I assume not but thought I would check.

If it takes your host just 15 mins to install, 2 hours seems reasonable been as they no doubt will spend some time communicating with you and testing and also troubleshooting.

The perl script installation process (for anyone who is interested) on CentOS (Linux) is as follows.

                      1. Log on via SSH as "sudo su -"
                      2. Type "yum install perl-Crypt-SSLeay" or use CPAN
                      3. Wait for install to complete
                      4. Reboot Apache/Perl etc
                      5. Test it has installed ok

It is a fairly straightforward process so shouldn't take that long. Certain shared environments may not allow custom Perl modules which may be a bit of a show stopper. Dedicated/virtual servers should be ok although each setup and operating system flavour may have certain dependancies. Any half decent server person will be able to do this whilst eating a packet of crisps - I did!

                      Hope this helps.

BIg thanks to Alex at Bitpod.

We now have Net:SSL and Crypt:SSLeay installed on our 1and1 virtual server (CentOS 5 with Plesk 8.X (64-bit)).
Took about 20 mins (including time working out whether we had it installed already or not).

                            Hoping that's fixed it.

                              No problem. Glad to help.

We have just had one of our other clients say that Paypal is now working properly for them after we amended their server configuration as discussed in this thread.

                              Good news!
