Just how IS life on the other side?
I can't make any claims to lightening speed, 100% uptime etc, as all of 'them' throw a wobbly at some stage, but I can say that things are 'at least' as good as they were with Clara, and probably a whole lot better.
.....and all that at 1/3rd the cost, and far better and easier upgrade options, if you find that you need them (my site, which is very similar in stats to yours George, runs like a dream under Businsess Pro)!!!!
The change is not as painfull as you may think...
...meanwhile, in SECRET INVASION #2, the Skrulls have just revealed themselves to be ......
ps: hot tip number 2 - if you work away from your main PC at anytime and need remote access, get yourself signed up to LogMeIn - its the nuts - its free in its most basic version - and the fuller Pro version only costs about £60pa. (GoToMyPC is more heavily publicised, does the same job, but is far more expensive. Have tried them both, and LogMeIn is the one to go for).

I use Logmein a lot and find it works great. I find the free version is good enough for my needs too. I frequently use it to log into my main pc remotely whilst out and about using my little linux ASUS with a 3G modem. Works a treat. You need a fast upload speed at of course at the remote end though to get the best response.

Lee, how much are you paying for GoToMyPC?
My hot tip no.3 - if you can be a*sed - wait a month or so once your trial ends, and they should email you with a cheaper offer, which roughly matches LogMeIn's £60pa (funny that!).
Anyways, like you said, its horses for courses.
I tried them both and found them very similar performance wise, but Log was £60pa (or free if you don't need file transfers), whereas Go was something like £12pm (stab in the dark ish guess).
Hows baby lee coming along? Trashing the place yet?

I'm still on the free trial so no idea yet to be honest as i haven't looked at prices. Worst thing i find about the whole service (which isnt the service's fault) is that it's crap viewing a desktop square screen on a laptop widescreen. I've been impressed though with it, i think Gabe recommended ultra VNC which is free also. With a second failure, i think schmogmein have had their chances - shame.
Travis is great thanks, we've had 2 pretty big scares with the little blighter along the way, but he is up and running trying to trash the joint. He's a year in a months time, my God time flies. How's your little un doing, all ok? She must be 14-15 months now?

Our lil Ollie (1yr 1 wk) is doing just great thanks. Walking, babbling, asserting her personality, and generally having a ball - and taking us along for the ride
Time certainly flies, I'm still here, trading under Act Cat 5, and proud owner (and non user) of A6, B7, BMU8, and now BMU9!
I really should employ one of you guys to take this development lark off my hands, but I'm just too stubborn, and insist that I WILL find the time to develop my site further, some day soon.
Lee - if your still on the trial and loving it, then take my advice and hold out on them (ie cancel) when the trials up. If you want to save a few shekkels, they will stump up a great offer if you give them a few weeks, and they think they have lost you. I was offered £5pm for a sign up to the annual plan (like I said in earlier post, £60pa - matching LogMeIns annual fee).Attached Files

I think its something like £10pm for unlimited 'advertised' 8GB broadband (on the assumption that you are already a Sky subscriber), and dirt cheap (or free - I haven't the details with me) phone calls.
But, I'm a cautious old soul who is very skepitical of anything that sounds too cheap!
So I'm sitting on the fence for now.
The speed, reliability and even the free Netgear Router they supply are excellent and as you say if your a suvbscriber and pay the £10 per month that is for the unlimited service up to 16mb depending on your exchange and your distance from it etc the same as any other ISP. I also have several friends on Sky broadband on different exchanges and non of them that i know of have had any cause for concern or complaint either, pay the extra £5 you also get Sky Talk which give unlimited UK (01 numbers etc) calls excluding 0845 etc 24/7 and i think you now get 20 international (used to be 10) free calls which is very handy for me as my misses is an Aussie and calls home a lot which now costs us nothing

GoToMyPC
We tried out LogMeIn but got error after error and more crashes than Stevie Wonder on a motorway so went to GoToMyPC and haven't looked back since, yes its more expensive but after you have had an account for so long, they give you another user free so for £11.99 a month you are getting control over 2 pc's.
The ability to drag and drop files is fantastic and has alone saved me many a trip back to the shop and accoss to the office, the only one headache is when you have control open on the 2 pc's is knowing what you were doing on each, makes your head hurt trying to remember what file you wanted to shift and why!!www.parklifeclothes.co.uk
